Patiala clash: Political leaders express concern, urge CM Bhagwant Mann to maintain peace

Political leaders expressed concern as four people got injured in clashes in Patiala on Friday. They urged CM Bhagwant Mann to maintain law and order situation.
A clash broke out outside Patiala's Kali Mata temple between Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) members and a group of Sikh activists. As per reports, stones were hurled and slogans were shouted. At least four people were hurt in the violence.
The authorities announced an 11-hour curfew in Patiala district to maintain law and order.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann termed the incident unfortunate and said he held a meet with top state police officials. He assured that culprits will not be spared.
Taking to microblogging site Twitter, he said, "A meeting of the DGP and all the top officials was called on the incident in Patiala. Directed the immediate investigation of the case and gave strict instructions to the officials that not a single culprit should be spared. Anti-Punjab forces will not be allowed to disturb the peace of Punjab at any cost."

Mann said Punjab's peace and harmony are of utmost importance. "The incident of clashes in Patiala is deeply unfortunate. I have spoken to the DGP; peace has been restored in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation and will not let anyone create disturbance in the state," Mann said in an earlier tweet.
