In a veiled attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the BJP has alleged that Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee wasn’t scamming “on his own accord”.
Following the seizure of Rs 20 crore in cash from the home of a close aide of Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, the BJP launched a veiled attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by alleging that the TMC leader wasn’t scamming “on his own accord”.
BJP’s IT in-charge Amit Malviya took to Twitter and shared a video of Mamata Banerjee praising Arpita Mukherjee for the good work she has done on behalf of the TMC in Odisha. The ED raided Mukherjee’s home on Friday night and recovered Rs 20 crore in cash, while probing the alleged teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal.
Malviya said, “Not too long ago, Mamata Banerjee, from an open platform, praised Partha Chaterjee’s close aide, from whose residential premise, ED seized a small sum of 20 crore. Mamata knew of her and the “good work” she was doing. Make no mistake, Partha wasn’t scamming on his own accord.”

During the course of searches, the ED recovered approximately Rs 20 crore cash in denominations of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 and 20 mobile phones from the residential premises of Arpita Mukherjee. The said amount is suspected to be proceeds of crime in the alleged scam in School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment.
