Parliamentary panel gives Twitter 2 days to explain why it locked accounts of RS Prasad, Shashi Tharoor
India Today
The parliamentary panel on IT has given Twitter 48 hours to explain the reasons why it locked accounts of Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology on Tuesday asked Twitter to explain the grounds on which it temporarily locked profiles of Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on June 26. And @Twitter locked me out again because to explain the problem, the first tweet in this thread included the offending copyrighted video. Locking is a foolish response to a DCMA notice; disabling the video (which they've now done) should be enough. @Twitter has a lot to learn. Sources privy to the development said that the parliamentary panel headed by Shashi Tharoor had asked the Lok Sabha Secretariat to seek Twitter's response in writing on this within 48 hours.More Related News
