Parents in Delhi NCR are concerned over Covid-19 as Delhi schools are set to reopen after summer vacations on July 1, 2022.
As schools in Delhi NCR are going to reopen from July 1, 2022 post the summer vacation, increasing Covid-19 cases in the region have given rise to concerns amongst parents even though school principals said that there should not be any more disruption in offline learning while also emphasising that all measures are being undertaken to get students used to life in Covid-19 pandemic.
School principles further stated that while Covid-19 is posing new threats, parents need to understand that the pandemic is close to the endemic phase and people should get used to living with it.
Shalimar Bagh’s Modern Public School Principal told the news agency PTI, “While the schools are scheduled to open from July 1 after the summer vacations, increasing Covid-19 cases have become a major concern for the parents yet again.”
"The state government has stated that it is not in favour of any more disruptions in studies and aims to continue education while keeping the safety of students and teachers at prior," she added.
The principal further remarked that while the Covid-19 pandemic is posing newer threats, there is a need for parents to understand that the Covid-19 pandemic is close to the endemic phase, one should get used to living with it.
She went on to inform, "At our school, children with low immunity are provided with the option of staying at home, while parents can connect with the school authorities to get the class work of the student at home.”
"The concerns of parents about their child's safety are valid, and we have made a personal effort to allay their apprehensions in the midst of the sudden rise in Covid-19 cases,” said the DPS RNE, Ghaziabad, Principal Pallavi Upadhyaya.
