Parents and residents call for Uvalde school board to fire district police chief during emotional open forum
CNN
Victims parents discussed the devastation the shooting has brought on their families and the city.
Eight people -- parents of victims along with residents -- spoke during the forum. Among the topics were the lack of security in the schools and calls for the firing of the Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Police Chief Pete Arredondo.
"We all know that they (police) messed up, we all know that this wasn't handled right," said Ryan Ramirez, father of Alithia Ramirez, who was one of the children killed. "Y'all can do whatever you want to try and make us happy, it's not going to work. Y'all know what we want, accountability."
