Panic gripped two villages in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam after a cloudburst triggered a flash flood.
Panic gripped two villages in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam after a cloudburst in the upper reaches of Tangmarg triggered a flash flood on Saturday.
Sub-divisional magistrate of Noor Abad, Bashir Ul Hassan, told India Today that the cloudburst occurred in the upper reaches of Tangmarg, a far-flung village of the district.
He said that soon after the cloudburst occurred, a team had rushed to the spot. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.

The disaster management authorities have rescued 150 people so far. Schools and houses were damaged due to muddy water. “This year, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed an increasing number of cloudbursts,” Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kulgam, Mohammad Imran Khan, said.
