The Madhya Pradesh assembly on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution that Panchayat elections in the state should not be held without reservations for other backward classes.
The move came as a compromise between the treasury and the Opposition benches as the Opposition Congress party stalled proceedings of the house and disrupted Question Hour alleging Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was not living up to his statement in the House. Two days back, he had said that Panchayat elections would not be held without reservations for OBCs.
