Pro-Pakistan slogans were allegedly raised in Jharkhand’s Giridih district during a procession of nomination filing for Panchayat election. Supporters of Md Shakir Hussain (45), who is vying for the mukhiya's post, raised 'Pakistan zindabad' slogans when they accompanied him to the election office on Wednesday.
Shakir Hussain held a roadshow before filing the nomination for Panchayat election under Gandey PS area. A video shows his supporters raising the 'Pakistan zindabad' slogan near block office gate. The video of the incident has been shared multiple times on social media.
Giridih Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anil Kumar Singh said that three people, including the mukhiya candidate, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Anil Kumar Singh said that strict action will be taken against those involved. Further investigation is underway.
