"Previous [Imran Khan] government failed to take any concrete action after revocation of Article 370 in Kashmir. We want a better relationship with India, but it can't happen till a peaceful solution to Kashmir issue is reached. We can't leave them to bleed, we'll continue our moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people. My message to PM Modi is to resolve the issue as per the wishes of Kashmiri people, to eradicate their plight and fight against their poverty," he added.
He also lauded China-Pakistan relations and said CPEC will move forward at full speed and vowed to improve ties with countries such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE.
Shehbaz Sharif was elected unopposed as the PM of Pakistan, substituting for Imran Khan for about 15 months until the next general elections. Imran Khan was ousted from office as Pakistan's Prime Minister on Saturday after losing a no-confidence vote in the national assembly.
