Author Taslima Nasreen on Wednesday claimed that a religious leader wanted to kill her and inspired Pakistani extremists to kill her in the name of Islam.
Author Taslima Nasreen, against whom several fatwas (death sentences) have been issued in the past for her anti-Islamic remarks, on Wednesday claimed that a religious leader, Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, wanted to kill her and inspired Pakistani extremists to kill her in the name of Islam.
Taslima Nasreen took to Twitter and shared a video of the religious leader. She wrote, “This religious leader wanted to kill me and he inspired millions of Pakistani extremists to kill me in the name of Islam. He claimed he read my book, but of course, he didn't. He lied.”

Last week, Taslima said that she could also be killed after author Salman Rushdie was stabbed on Friday as he was about to deliver a lecture at western New York's Chautauqua institute.
Speaking exclusively to India Today, Nasreen said, “It is not that Fatwa was issued against me a long time ago and now they have forgotten it. They will never forget. They will kill me if they get any chance.”
