Padma Shri KY Venkatesh: Meet the para-athlete who did India proud at the world stage

KY Venkatesh started his career in 1994 when he represented India at the first Paralympics held in Germany.
President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday presented the Padma Shri to para-athlete KY Venkatesh, who led India at the fifth Dwarf Olympic Games in 2009. The country won 17 medals that year.
Awarded the Padma Shri for his invaluable contribution to the sport and its development, Venkatesh (44) hails from Bengaluru in Karnataka. His height is four feet and two inches.
