Pa Ranjith calls out Rolling Stone and Maajja for sidelining rapper Arivu on magazine cover

Director Pa Ranjith took to Twitter to call out American magazine Rolling Stone for sidelining rapper and lyricist Arivu on their cover page. It features singers Dhee and Shan Vincent De Paul.
Director Pa Ranjith has come down heavily on American magazine Rolling Stone and music label Maajaa for omitting singer, rapper and lyricist Arivu on their magazine cover. This comes after the Indian edition of Rolling Stone interviewed singers Dhee and Shan Vincent De Paul, who sung the super hit songs, Enjoy Enjaami and Neeye Oli. While Neeye Oli is written by Arivu, Enjoy Enjaami is sung and written by Dhee and Arivu. The cover page of Rolling Stone does not even mention Arivu. @TherukuralArivu, the lyricist of #Neeyaoli and singer as well as lyricist of #enjoyenjami has once again been invisiblised. @RollingStoneIN and @joinmaajja is it so difficult to understand that the lyrics of both songs challenges this erasure of public acknowledgement? https://t.co/jqLjfS9nwY Thread//When #enjoyenjaami was released I first thought it was Arivu's independent single and it had Dhee supporting him as he was an independent artist. He wrote the lyrics ,sang .The song was his idea.Nobody can deny it. But the title said "Dhee ft Arivu". The article can be used to justify that Dhee and Shan have multiple projects lined up for the label and hence their spotlight. But tbh, the spotlight would not have turned to them if it weren't for the viral enjoy enjaami to which Arivu has immensely contributed. A simple erasure This. And if you haven't listened to The Casteless Collective's album 'Therukural' you're missing out. It is amazing! The songs in it are not only bangers but also have incredible lyrics. Arivu is a gift to Tamil pop culture. https://t.co/YGtvbb9KtX How it should have been.. We all know the hero of both the songs is the lyrics. And the magazine even excluded Arivu's name as singer of Cuckoo song Hope you correct this @RollingStone @TherukuralArivu @beemji pic.twitter.com/o3l7kFwccK How arivu disappeared from these places? The song's soul belongs to arivu and the people grabbed his grandpa's land also robbed the song from him. There is no shame left. ! https://t.co/wp5cwKBWr9 complete love to these two but what's missing here is the guy who made the lyrics for both these songs and many more songs that got everyone watching. Arivu deserves more. https://t.co/gkOnVYGqPGMore Related News
