Over 630 candidates receive appointment letters at Rozgar Mela in Visakhapatnam

Rozgar Mela in Visakhapatnam by Central government offers job opportunities in various sectors to over 630 candidates.
The Rozgar Mela organised by the Central government was held at the Kalavani Port Stadium in the city, here on Monday. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu presented the job offer letters to the selected candidates at the mela.
Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat and Visakhapatnam North MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju, and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president Palla Srinivasa Rao were present at the event.
The mela was hosted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), where CISF Deputy Inspector General Aparanjita Mohapatra, CISF Commandant (Singareni) Yogesh Parmar, and CISF Commandant (Visakhapatnam Port) Satish Kumar Bajpai also took part.
The jobs were given to the candidates selected for Central government wings such as CISF, CRPF, ITBP, Assam Rifles, SSB, Postal, Banks and Railway. Above 630 candidates received appointment letter through the mela.
More than 2.6 lakh village and ward volunteers in Andhra Pradesh, once celebrated as the government’s grassroots champions for their crucial role in implementing welfare schemes, are now in a dilemma after learning that their tenure has not been renewed after August 2023 even though they have been paid honoraria till June 2024. Disowned by both YSRCP, which was in power when they were appointed, and the current ruling TDP, which made a poll promise to double their pay, these former volunteers are ruing the day they signed up for the role which they don’t know if even still exists
