Over 300 kg of contraband seized in Tuticorin's Chidambaranar port

DRI Officials have seized 303 kg of contraband, suspected to be cocaine, in Chidambaranar port in Tuticorin of Tamil Nadu.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials confiscated 303 kg of contraband in Chidambaranar port in Tuticorin pf Tamil Nadu. The total value of the contraband is estimated to be more than Rs 1,500 crore. The contraband, suspected to be cocaine, was recovered from containers carrying wooden logs, which were believed to be coming from Panama via Colombo, an official said. In a statement, DRI officials said, "The contraband weighed 303 kg and it is highly suspected to be cocaine. The contraband along with cover goods i.e. wooden logs have been seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985."More Related News
