An 8-year-old boy died, while his sister suffered severe injuries after more than twenty dogs attacked them while they were playing outside their house in the Musahibganj area of Lucknow.
An eight-year-old boy was killed and his sister was severely injured after they were attacked by more than 20 stray dogs while playing outside their house in the Musahibganj area of Thakurganj, Lucknow.
Both the kids were taken to the KGMU’s Trauma Centre, but the boy, Mohammad Haidar, succumbed to injuries. His 5-year-old sister, Jannat, was admitted to the ICU in critical condition.
Parents of the deceased boy have raised their voice against the city's municipal corporation and said that despite repeated complaints about stray dogs becoming a danger to the locals, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) never bothered to take any action.
He said that they reached the authorities for sterilisation of dogs, but the LMC denied stating that they cannot catch dogs as NGOs oppose it.
The victim's father has filed a complaint with the Thakurganj police against the officials of Municipal Corporation Zone 6 and others.
