The people of Nalgonda municipality have been drinking this water for the past ten days -- which is how long the body could have been in the water, the authorities suspect.
A dead body was discovered in the water tank of the Old City of Hindupur in Nalgonda Municipality today, causing widespread panic among residents. The locals had unknowingly been consuming contaminated water for the past 10 days.
The matter became known when residents noticed a change in water quality and reported it to the municipal water supply staff.
Upon inspection, municipal staff and residents found a dead body in the tank.
