Oscars 2021: 'Nomadland' wins big at 93rd Academy Awards
The 93rd Academy Awards have come to a close. Not only was the night a celebration of the best films from the last year, the ceremony has gone to prove that red carpet events can be held in a safe and socially distanced way amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Different to shows of the past, the ceremony was held months behind schedule; this year there was a significantly smaller red carpet, missing international stars and a socially distanced ceremony, as well as satellite screenings in both London and Paris. That didn't take away from the glitter of the event - literally, as gold was the go-to colour on the red carpet, and figuratively, as major names including Brad Pitt, Regina King and Reese Witherspoon all turned out for the event. For the first time since 2002, the ceremony was not held in its entirety at the Dolby Theatre. Instead, this year, the stars flocked to Los Angeles's Union Station.
