Organisational changes on cards for BJP after swearing in of new cabinet in UP
India Today
The BJP in UP may bring some organisational changes after several leaders were given cabinet berths.
Organisational changes are on the cards for the BJP after the swearing in of the new Yogi Adityanath cabinet in Uttar Pradesh.
Several party leaders such as BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh, vice president Arvind Kumar Sharma, party general secretary JPS Rathod and Dayashankar Singh have been inducted into the party. While, Jaswant Saini, who has handled different campaigns, has also been made a minister.
It is claimed that some of the faces who did not get a cabinet berth this time, can be accommodated in different party posts.
The changes in party posts were discussed in meetings, keeping the 2024 polls in mind.
As per sources, among the ministers who were not a part of the state Cabinet this time, some may be given important roles.
Satish Mahana, an 8-time MLA, is the frontrunner for the Speaker of the Assembly. While Dinesh Sharma could be given the chair of the Legislative Council Speaker, it is believed that, in view of his seniority, Sharma could be the chairman of the Legislative Council.
Similarly, Shrikant Sharma may be named as the new party president in UP.
