Options for Indian medical students from Ukraine: Legal provisions, what Medical Council rules say
India Today
Currently, there are no rules or regulations for Indian undergraduate students to continue their foreign degrees with Indian private medical colleges. Here are a few options for Indian students returning from Ukraine to ensure that their academic progress is not hampered due to the ongoing war with Russia.
Ukraine has been a popular option for pursuing education, especially medicine. Therefore, several Indian students chose to attend the medical courses there, but sadly, they are now in a distressed situation.
The Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate has stated that the period to complete the academic programme of medicine can be extended up to 10 years.
Unfortunately, as the situation stands, the medical boards have arranged internships in Indian hospitals for the graduates from Ukraine, but not any facilities for the ones who were in the midst of their academic courses.
