Oppo announces next generation of under-screen camera tech, claims it is better than ZTE Axon 30’s camera

Oppo showed off its under-screen camera technology for the first time back in 2019 but that has not materialised yet.
Oppo has unveiled what it is calling the next generation of under-screen camera technology. Although this is not Oppo’s first time talking about cameras that go beneath displays, it is an important progress, at least that is what the company claims. Oppo, at an event, said its new USC technology will allow cameras to take selfies without compromising on the image quality, something that has plagued the existing under-screen cameras on phones such as ZTE Axon 30. High-quality images will be possible because Oppo is using smaller pixels in its next-generation USC technology. Smaller pixels mean more clarity and detail in images. That is important because even though notches and punch-holes are no longer an abomination and go unnoticed sometimes, the USC technology will pave the way for what cameras will become in the future. And putting a camera under a screen without it showing in plain sight is a complicated job that companies such as Oppo are working on.More Related News
