Premier Doug Ford met with cabinet on Thursday to discuss the return to school in the New Year.
Students across Ontario were supposed to return to school on Jan. 3 following the winter break.
Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore is expected to make the announcement at 3 p.m.
