14 engineering colleges in the country are set to teach their courses in Indian languages under the National Education Policy.
In a major initiative to promote teaching-learning in the mother tongue, 14 engineering colleges of 8 states will begin imparting education in 5 Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bangla. Another major move is that the Indian sign language, for the first time, has been accorded the status of language subject. These were among the announcements that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made on Thursday as he spoke on the National Education Policy (NEP) one year after it was readied.More Related News
