One militant killed in encounter in J&K's Srinagar

One unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Srinagar district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning.
An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Nowgam area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Wednesday, the police said.
Inspector General of Police in Kashmir Vijay Kumar told India Today that militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organisation were trapped in the encounter, which was still underway as of Wednesday morning.
The militants concerned were involved in the recent killing of sarpanch Sameer Bhat, Vijay Kumar said. Sameer Bhat was shot dead on March 9 on the outskirts of Srinagar.
