One person is dead and a woman has been arrested after a crash early Wednesday morning that has forced the closure of Princess Elizabeth Public School because of an ongoing police investigation.
The incident began at 2:20 a.m., when police say they found a stolen car near King Edward and Russell avenues overnight.
"The suspect vehicle fled from police," officers said in a statement. When they found the car a short distance away at Adelaide Street South and Thompson Road, the vehicle "had collided with another vehicle."
The person in the second vehicle was pronounced dead, police said.
The police watchdog, which gets involved when police investigations lead to injury or death, has been called, London Police said.
A woman involved in the incident was arrested. The investigation is ongoing Wednesday morning and as of 7 a.m., the intersection is still closed.
