Batting great Sachin Tendulkar rewrote record books at an unprecedented pace during his 25-year-long celebrated career. One of the most important landmarks that he achieved came on this day, 20 years ago. On March 31, 2001, the Master Blaster became the first man on the planet to go past 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. Sachin Tendulkar brought up the major milestone in his 266th match, which came against Australia at the Nehru Stadium in Indore. Tendulkar opened the batting with Rahul Dravid but the opening partnership did not last long. After losing Dravid, Tendulkar went on to stitch a 199-run stand with VVS Laxman, who walked in at No. 3. Tendulkar went after the Australia bowlers, hitting 139 from 125 balls as he celebrated the occasion with a match-winning hundred. Tendulkar showcased his class against the likes of Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, hitting 19 boundaries during the Indore masterclass.More Related News
