An on-duty traffic constable was fined Rs 2,000 for not wearing a mask in the Puri district of Odisha.
The Odisha Police on Tuesday fined an on-duty traffic constable Rs 2,000 for not wearing a mask. Puri SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh said, "On being brought to our notice, we have fined our own traffic constable Rs 2,000 for not wearing a mask. And he, as a responsible citizen, has paid. Wear Mask always or pay the fine. There is no alternative." Puri SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh told India Today, "Today, we have fined our police constable. It is a stern message if we are not sparing our people, we will not spare anybody because it is a public health priority. Public health is our topmost priority. Honourable CM [Naveen Patnaik] has given a call to wear for 10 days mask abhiyan is going on."More Related News
