After India's loss against Pakistan in T20 World Cup match on Sunday, an old video featuring former captain MS Dhoni went crazy viral on social media.
Pakistan registered their first-ever win over India in a World Cup match after 12 attempts in Sunday’s game held at Dubai International Stadium. Soon after India’s defeat in last night’s match, an old video of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India’s mentor for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, went viral on social media. Some words said by ms dhoni back in 2016 #INDvPAK #PakVsInd pic.twitter.com/UA0s2TSd32 Yes, this is what a sport is, you'll win but can also lose. Nobody can keep up with a world record for too long.Pakistan had to break that record one time or another.. And they did it yesterday that too gracefully. They deserve all the appreciation. #IndiaVsPak #PAKvIND https://t.co/3Dj6Tz3vun Harsh reality..Difficult to accept but 100% trueLegend for a reason ..MSD https://t.co/hRQ7b1i4KC Dhoni said 110% true reality about the game , nothing is permanent. His words are true sports man's spirits that we need more The fact that it's game and it's not even possible that one side always keep wining in game. No shame in losing to a team which looked hungry and focused to win last night... No shame in admitting that this Pakistan Team was playing to prove a point to the world which has shunned it away thanks to the politics played in thier country#INDvPAK #India #ICCT20WorldCup https://t.co/p2yfpfnECq Disappointed dat #India lost its first game of the #T20WorldCup2021 Even more disappointed to see all the abuse by so called cricket fans to players on social media. It’s a game for God sake & all players are human. They DO NOT DESERVE all this negativity & slander. #indvspak https://t.co/ZaXtPSBqEm
In the now-viral video, MS Dhoni can be seen talking about how India’s winning streak against Pakistan will eventually end if not today or tomorrow, then 50 years down the line. The video which has surfaced on social media is from a post-match press conference in 2016. “But it is a fact that we will eventually lose at some point or the other. This record is not always going to be the same. If it did not happen today, then maybe after 10 years, 20 years, or even 50 years down the line, such an opportunity will definitely come,” MS Dhoni said in the video.
