Koppal in-charge Minister directs officials to speed up digitisation of land records for transparency and efficiency.
Kannada and Culture Minister and Koppal in-charge Shivaraj Tangadagi has directed officials to speed up digitisation of land records in the district and complete the task in the stipulated time.
Flagging off a drive for digitisation of the land records under the Bhoo Suraksha project virtually from his office in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Mr. Tangadagi said that the project envisions preserving valuable land records and providing easy access to them, while preventing fraud in land records.
“The digitisation of land records should be conducted in a proper way. I have found many discrepancies in land records, especially in the district’s irrigation belt. It is the government’s ambitious project and all the officials should work with dedication to make it a success,” he said.
Describing the purpose behind the project, Mr. Tangadagi said that digitisation of land records is expected to bring more transparency and speed in land transitions and minimise frauds.
“People face problems because of inordinate delays in getting land records. Once digitisation is done, they can access their records at their fingertips. The project has already been implemented in Karatagi. We need to extend it to the rest of the taluks,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Nalini Atul initiated the digitisation at the Koppal Taluk Office.
“The digitisation of land records is going on well in the district. Adequate human resources and infrastructure are given to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated time,” Mr. Atul told the meeting.
