Local Municipal Corporation officials cleared flexes of Savarkar that were installed as part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Karnataka’s Tumakuru. Officials from the police and corporation had refused permission to install the flexes.
There were restrictions from police and municipal corporation on installing flexes without taking permission for Ganesh Chaturthi. However, flexes with images of Savarkar and Bal Gangadhar Tilak were installed, despite permission being denied.

Despite permission being denied, members of Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) had allegedly installed flexes of Savarkar in Karnataka’s Tumakuru.
Bajrang Dal and VHP activists alleged that the flexes were removed because they had Savarkar’s photo in them. However, corporation officials denied the claims and said that they were cleared because they were installed without permission.
“No flexes can be installed without taking prior permission from the municipal corporation,” said the officials.
