Odisha | Father, 2 daughters and grandson travelling on bike dies after hit by speeding van

An accident in Odisha between a bike and a speeding van killed a father, his two daughters and grandson.
A man, his two daughters and his minor grandson were killed after their bike was hit by a speeding van on Tuesday. The incident happened in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
The deceased were identified as Jayaram Nayak, his two daughters Rinki Nayak and Laxmi Patra and his grandson Biswajit Patra. They were all residents of Munigadi village.
The accident took place when Jayaram was returning to the village after work. As per reports, the speeding van hit the motorcycle from behind and ran over the victims. Jayaram died on the spot while his daughters and grandson were rescued and taken to the nearest sub-divisional hospital. There, the doctors declared the daughters dead on arrival.

The grandson was shifted to Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) medical college in a critical condition. After giving him emergency treatment for a few hours, the doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup van has allegedly fled the spot after hitting the bike.
Following the accident, tension erupted in the area and locals protested by burning tyres and blocking the highway. The locals are demanding compensation for the victim’s family.
