Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal have geared up preparedness to tackle Cyclone Jawab, which is likely to reach the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha coast on the morning of December 4.
The low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression and is likely to take the form of a cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours and reach Odisha-Andhra Pradesh coast on December 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin on Thursday. The Depression, lay centered at 2330 hrs IST of 2nd Dec 2021, over BoB near Lat 12.0°N & Long 87.5°E, about 770 km south-southeast of Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours. pic.twitter.com/cgEjeOeZEj
According to the IMD bulletin issued on Friday morning, at 11:30 pm on Thursday, the depression lay centered over Bay of Bengal near Latitude 12.0°N and Longitude 87.5°E, about 770 km south-southeast of Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
