New York City Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency on Thursday due to the continued influx of illegal immigrants from southern border states.
Adams said that one in five of people in the city's shelter system is a migrant, which is creating a "crisis," he said. Timothy Nerozzi is a writer for Fox News Digital. You can follow him on Twitter @timothynerozzi and can email him at timothy.nerozzi@fox.com
"This is a humanitarian crisis that started with violence and instability in South America and is being accelerated by American political dynamics," Adam said Friday. "Thousands of asylum seekers have been bused into New York City and simply dropped off, without notice, coordination, or care — and more are arriving every day."
