Nupur Alankar takes sanyaas and quits showbiz, actress sleeps on floor and eats one meal a day

Nupur Alankar has quit showbiz. The former actress has taken sanyaas and is now busy visiting pilgrimages.
Actress Nupur Alankar, who was also an active member of CINTAA, and renounced worldly desires. The actress took 'sanyaas' and quit showbiz in February this year. She is currently busy visiting pilgrimages.
Nupur Alankar, who now wears saffron outfit and chandan on forehead, spoke to Etimes and said, "I took sanyaas in February. I am busy visiting pilgrimages and have involved myself in helping those in need. I have always been inclined towards spiritualism and had been following adhyatm, so it was a matter of time before I devoted myself completely to it. I have been blessed to find the right guru Shambhu Sharan Jha, all thanks to my time at CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association), where I worked as a committee member and held health workshops. It brought me in contact with my guru and another master healer, which changed the course of my life."
She finds it funny that people think she is emotionally devastated to take such a decision. The former actress revealed that the lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic helped her become detached from the world. Nupur's mother died in December 2020. She shared that the passing away of her mother helped her realise that she didn't 'fear losing anything anymore'.
Before renouncing the world, Nupur Alankar was married to actor Alankar Srivastava. The two tied the knot in 2002. But she has now left her marriage behind. She said that her husband has 'freed' her and accepted her decision.
Nupur Alankar has been part of numerous TV shows, which include Shaktimaan, Swaragingi, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo, Adhur Kahaani Hamari, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Phulwa, among others.
