Quebec's Health Ministry is urging people to be careful as it reports an 11th case of measles linked to a current outbreak, Sunday.
The infected person was contagious while visiting the Carrefour Laval mall and the Renaud-Bray bookstore there on Jan. 7. Public health officials say thousands may have been exposed to the virus.
The ministry has added more locations of possible exposure on its website. They include places in Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville.
This latest measles outbreak in Quebec was declared in December after a case was imported from abroad during the NATO conference at the Palais des congrès de Montréal in late November.
Symptoms of measles include high fever, runny nose, red eyes and redness of the face and body.
People who are protected against measles are unlikely to contract the disease. Those who are not and who have been in contact with a contagious person are encouraged to get vaccinated within 72 hours, outlines the ministry on its website.
There are only two people who really know what happened on the fateful day in June 2021 when a man allegedly killed his neighbour: the one whose remains were discovered over a month later, and the one now on trial in a Winnipeg court for first-degree murder, prosecutors told the jury hearing the case Monday.
