
NTPC's September Quarter Net Profit Sees Year-On-Year Fall

The plant load factor or capacity utilisation of NTPC's coal-based power plants rose to 69.58 per cent in the September quarter of 2021-22
State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation recorded a 8.3 per cent fall in its second quarter net profit on a standalone basis, as it stood at Rs 3,211 crore in the period ending September 30, 2021 of the current fiscal. The power major had recorded a net profit of Rs 3,504 crore in the second quarter of 2020-21.
However the company witnessed a rise in its total income during the second quarter of the current financial year on a standalone basis, which was Rs 29,273 crore.
The total income of the power company was Rs 26,023 crore during the corresponding period of last year.
NTPC's profit after tax on a standalone basis for the first half of the current fiscal too was up by 6.4 per cent as it stood at Rs 6,357 crore as against Rs 5,974 crore recorded in the first half of 2020-21.
