Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the ruling legislators moved to a location near Latratu dam amid the emerging political crisis in the state.
With Hemant Soren facing disqualification from the Jharkhand Assembly, resort politics has now come into play in the state. On Saturday, Hemant Soren and the ruling legislators were seen leaving on several buses.
The MLAs were shifted to a location near Latratu dam in Jharkhand. The three buses were occupied by the legislators of the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD coalition and guarded by security personnel. Here are some top developments in the story:
1) Following the threat to Heman Soren being “disqualified” as an MLA, a meeting of legislators of the ruling alliance was held at the chief minister’s residence to chalk out a strategy to deal with the emerging political crisis.
2) The ruling MLAs took part in the meeting along with their luggage. And following the meeting, Hemant Soren along with the legislators of the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD coalition moved to a location near Latratu dam.
3) Roads leading to Latratu dam, where the ruling legislators are presently camped, have been blocked by the authorities. The media is also not allowed to travel on the roads, not even on foot.
4) A Congress source told PTI that all arrangements have been made to park the coalition legislators in either Chhattisgarh or West Bengal. The source said three locations in Chhattisgarh, including Barmuda and Raipur, and some places in West Bengal have been identified.
"All ruling MLAs will be sent to a single destination if the need arises," another source said.
