Nothing wrong asking for proof of surgical strikes: Telangana CM KCR takes on BJP
India Today
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao claimed that the BJP is using surgical strikes to mobilise voters in its favour in the poll-bound states.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Sunday hit out at the BJP, accusing the party of using references to religion and Army to win state elections.
Addressing the media at Hyderabad's Pragathi Bhavan, Chandrashekar Rao claimed that the BJP is using surgical strikes to mobilise voters in its favour in the poll-bound states.
"Nothing wrong with asking for proof of surgical strike. I am asking now. BJP makes false propaganda. Now [General Bipin] Rawat photographs are being used. What nonsense," he said.
Chandrashekar Rao was referring to a speech by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in poll-bound Uttarakhand where he questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for asking proof of the 2016 surgical strikes.

"BJP wants to use surgical strikes for political gains. We will definitely question that. The Army should get credit for the strikes not BJP," KCR said.
"When elections come, [BJP] put tension on the border or provoke people in the name of religion to earn votes. This is not right," he added.
