A 23-year-old man was arrested for stealing a bike since he did not want to travel by bus every day. The accused, identified as Parthasarathy, stole the bike because it took him hours to travel from Nerkundram to Anna Salai daily.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Chennai for stealing a bike since he did not want to travel by bus every day. The man was also a murder accused and had been ordered to visit a police station in the city and sign in every day.
The accused, identified as Parthasarathy, hails from Chennai’s Nerkundram. He had stolen a bike from Spencer Plaza on August 14. A 40-year-old man, Dinesh, who runs a shop in Spencer Plaza, had filed a complaint that his bike had gone missing from the vehicle parking area.
Thousand Lights Police, who were investigating the case, scanned several CCTVs in the area and apprehended 23-year-old Parthasarathy from Nerkundram. When asked about why he stole the motorbike, Parthasarathy stated that he did so as he didn’t want to take the bus every day.
Parthasarathy was a murder accused and had been ordered to visit Anna Salai police station every day and sign in.
It took Parthasarathy several hours to travel from Nerkundram to Anna Salai every day. So, he decided to choose another option and stole the bike. Based on the CCTV footage, police officials apprehended him.
Further investigations are underway.
