Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan was facing a no-confidence motion moved by the Leader of the Opposition, Shehbaz Sharif. As allies of Imran Khan’s government steadily switched sides, the Opposition claimed that it had the majority to topple the government.
At a rally in Islamabad, seen by many as Imran Khan’s demonstration of strength, the prime minister dramatically waved a white paper, calling it to be evidence of a “foreign conspiracy” to oust him.
