India Today
HMD has launched yet another feature phone in India and this one brings 4G connectivity along.
Nokia 110 4G is the latest feature phone from HMD Global that brings HD voice calling to a very affordable handset. This phone was originally launched in Europe back in June. The feature phone market is swelling despite an aggressive push in the smartphone market, and that is something HMD wants to capitalise on, especially when its smartphone portfolio is struggling to make it to the top five brands. The Nokia 110 4G’s biggest selling point is the support for 4G, which means all major carriers are going to support this phone. But the biggest advantage to customers will be the crystal-clear voice on calls. HMD’s Nokia feature phones have always tried to cash in on the nostalgia, but seldom have they managed to achieve that. The Nokia 110 4G brings features such as wireless FM radio and 3-in-1 speakers, and the company wants to entice customers through them. The biggest rival to Nokia’s 4G feature phones is the JioPhone, an uber-cheap feature phone tied to the Jio network of Reliance Jio. Talking from a larger perspective, the share of 4G feature phones in the entire feature phone market is small, and rightly so. According to Counterpoint Research, customers buying feature phones care more about features such as battery life than 4G connectivity.More Related News
