Noida Police busts interstate gang of vehicle lifters; 4 arrested

The arrests have led to the recovery of about 2.80 lakh cash, a country-made pistol, dismantled parts of vehicles, including 50 tyres, 12 car boots, six registration number plates, seven registration certificates and two live cartridges from the accused’s possession. Police have now launched a lookout for the mastermind of the gang, who has been identified as Dushyant Chauhan.
Noida Police busted an interstate gang of vehicle lifters on Wednesday. Police have arrested four people in connection with the case and the arrests have led to the recovery of a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from the accused’s possession.
The matter came to light when the Noida Police received information about the movement of some miscreants in the city, following which they laid a trap near Alpha Commercial Belt in Greater Noida.
During checking, two of the accused were present in a Hyundai Santro car who were intercepted and they were nabbed by the police as they failed to provide valid documents.
During further interrogation, the duo confessed to being a part of an interstate vehicle lifters’ gang and disclosed the involvement of two other members, who were hiding in Delhi.
Based on the information, a search was conducted in the Najafgarh area of Delhi which led to the arrest of another accused, identified as Hardeep Singh Oberoi.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), following the arrest, police seized about 2.80 lakh cash, dismantled parts of vehicles, including 50 tyres, 12 car boots, six registration number plates, seven registration certificates, weapons to break vehicle's locks and some batteries from the accused's possesion.
The accused have been identified as Yasin Khan, Nazrul Hasan, Hardeep Singh Oberoi and Lal Bahadur who together have managed to steal over 50 cars in last one year.
