Noida ‘most polluted’ city in country, Ghaziabad air quality 'severe'

Noida also continued to remain the ''most polluted city'' in the country with the AQI recorded 464 in the severe category. In a bid to check rising air pollution, the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has slapped a cumulative fine of Rs 66.5 lakh on eight major polluters on Saturday.
New Delhi: Despite marginal improvement in the air quality, pollution levels in the National Capital Region continue to be at alarming levels. The air quality in Ghaziabad continued to remain in the ‘severe’ category with AQI recorded at 441 on Saturday. The AQI was recorded at 481 on Friday.
It may be noted that the air quality in Ghaziabad has been in the severe category for ten straight days till Saturday.
