
Noida: Man duped of lakhs on pretext of job at Indian Railways; accused arrested

The accused had even finalised a deal for Rs 7 lakh, out of which Rs 1 lakh was paid by the victim in advance. The victim sensed foul play only after the accused demanded Rs 40,000 more, following which he approached the police.
Fraudsters find their own ways to con people. One such way these scammers use is to lure people with fake job promises. In a similar case from Noida, a man was allegedly duped for approximately Rs 1 lakh on the pretext of getting a job in the Indian Railways.
According to a report published in the Hindustan Times (HT), the accused, identified as Kartikeya Sharma who lives in the Beta sector of Greater Noida had made a fake promise to the victim assuring him a job at Indian Railways.
