Nobody is leaving party, Eknath Shinde chosen leader by majority: Sena rebel Deepak Kesarkar
India Today
Sena rebel Deepak Kesarkar has said that nobody is leaving the party and the new faction has the majority to "follow the path they wanted".
Shiv Sena MLA Deepak Vasant Kesarkar on Saturday said that rebel MLAs will not quit Shiv Sena and they possess a two-thirds majority to follow the path they wanted. The rebel MLA also claimed that there is no need to merge with any other party.
MLA Kesarkar said, "We are still a part of Shiv Sena. But sometimes MLAs have expectations. We had told the party president that we had taken a decision to stay with the alliance we fought polls with. We still believe Uddhav Thackeray will listen to us. When so many people come together, there is substance."
"There's a misunderstanding that we've left the party. We've just separated our faction. We've a two-thirds majority to follow the path we wanted. Our new leader was chosen by the majority. They didn't have more than 16-17 MLAs," he added.

The rebel MLA also denied the role of any other party in the Maharashtra political crisis, saying MLAs took the decision on their own.
On Saturday, Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly, Narhari Zirwal, issued notices to rebel MLAs for not attending the legislature party meeting. We will challenge this in court, Kesarkar said.
Dismissing the reports that the rebel camp has decided to name their group 'Shiv Sena Balasaheb', Kesarkar said that they haven’t asked for a different name for the group.
