No strike call issued by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, tweet attributed to him fake: J&K Police

J&K Police on Thursday said a tweet being attributed to Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani calling for a strike on Friday is fake. Police said Geelani's family has confirmed that no strike has been called by him.
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has not issued a strike call for Friday through a tweet. Police said Geelani's family has clarified that the tweet calling for a strike has been falsely attributed to the ailing leader. People are requested to carry out their normal activities in the holy month of Ramzan & need not to pay any heed to rumours on social media: IGP Kashmir https://t.co/41wqz5D6Se “Police have checked with the family members of Geelani and found that he has not tweeted about any strike call for Friday,” said a police statement. In a tweet, the IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that people are requested to carry out their normal activities in the holy month of Ramadan and need not pay any heed to rumours on social media.More Related News
