No sedition and UAPA cases were invoked by the Delhi Police against farmers protesting against the Centre's three farm laws, the Ministry of Home Affairs told Rajya Sabha.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has said no sedition and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) cases were invoked by the Delhi Police against farmers protesting against the Centre's three farm laws. In a written response to a question by CPI MP Binoy Viswam in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai stated that 183 people have been arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the farmers’ protest from 2020 to July 20, 2021.
