No respite from heat in Gurugram before June 15 | Check weather forecast

There will be no significant change in the maximum temperature in Gurugram for the next three to four days, the weather agency said. The IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies with thunderstorms for the city on Sunday.
Gurugram continued to reel under severe heatwave conditions on Saturday as the mercury soared to 43.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, three notches above normal. The residents of Gurugram can expect some relief on Sunday as the MeT has predicted partly cloudy conditions along with thunderstorms on Sunday. However, the weathermen said that Gurugram is unlikely to get any relief from heatwave conditions for the next three to four days.
The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 41 and 42 degrees Celsius and pre-monsoon rain is likely after June 15. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday, two notches above normal.
Heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of Delhi, Haryana, northwest Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh till June 15. "There will be no significant change in the maximum temperature for the next three to four days. This may cause heatwaves in some parts of the state, following which mercury will go down in the state," Manmohan Singh, Chandigarh IMD Director told TOI.
When easterly winds blow in the region, pre-monsoon activities are likely to gain momentum after June 15, bringing some relief. However, this may also increase humidity, which may cause uneasiness.
In its five-day weather forecast, the MeT predicted partly cloudy conditions on Sunday along with thunderstorms. Strong surface winds with speeds ranging from 30 kmph to 40kmph are likely to prevail during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle at 42 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meanwhile, the weather office said no major respite from the heat is likely in Delhi till June 15. It has predicted partly cloudy skies with thunder, lightning and strong surface winds for the next few days.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (MeT) said that the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to settle at 43 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 32.8 degrees Celsius today. In its seven-day weather forecast, the weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies with the possibility of thundery development with strong surface winds (speed 20-30 kmph) during the day.
