Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president and actor Kamal Haasan has condemned the Tamil Nadu government's decision to temporarily reopen Vedanta's Sterlite copper plant to produce oxygen, an essential element for critical Covid-19 patients. The decision was taken in view of the depleting oxygen reserves amid the surge in Covid-19 cases. The plant was sealed in May 2018 after 13 protesters were killed in police firing during a violent anti-Sterlite protest in ThoothukudiMore Related News
