The BJP mocked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for cutting two separate ribbons at an inauguration event in the state.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday took jibes at a picture of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for cutting two separate ribbons at an inauguration event of a mental hospital recently built in Bhojpur district of the state.
The 272 bedded mental hospital was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi last Friday. However, pictures of both the leaders, cutting two separate ribbons at the inauguration event, have given an opportunity to the opposition to mock the Mahagathbandhan government in the state.
Former Janata Dal United spokesperson Ajay Alok tweeted the picture with the caption, “No one would have seen such an inauguration. Two ribbons, two scissors and a CM's ribbon is placed below Tejashwi's.”
BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand also tweeted the picture and took potshots at Nitish and Tejashwi. He said,
"In the history of the country, never two ribbons have been used for an inauguration, not even in the Mughal period which is the favourite of RJD and Janata Dal United. But in the Mahagathbandhan government, two ribbons are cut for the inauguration. The upper one is cut by deputy CM and the lower one by CM," Nikhil Anand tweeted.
BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh also took a swipe at the unusual inauguration ceremony of the mental hospital where two ribbons were cut.
"The upper ribbon was cut by deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav while the bottom one was cut by Bihar's working CM Nitish Kumar. Government officials present at the inauguration also now know what the actual position of the two leaders is," BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh said.
