No links found between PFI and SDPI, says poll body chief
India Today
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that political outfit SDPI has submitted all necessary documents and no established links between radical outfit PFI and SDPI were found that necessitated action.
The Election Commission has found no links between the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), as the law enforcement agencies continue with the crackdown on the radical outfit and its affiliates across the country.
The Union government on September 28 banned the radical outfit PFI and its associates for five years, citing threats to security and terror links. A total of nine organisations have been declared "unlawful" under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). But the political offshoot of PFI, the SDPI escaped the ban.
